WWE 'Strategizing' for Fans By End of Summer

As we see NASCAR moving forward with events with some fans in the coming weeks, it was only a matter of time before we heard something similar about WWE, which kept running taped shows throughout the whole pandemic.

On Monday, PW Insider reported that WWE is beginning to "strategize" about what live events would look like: "We are told that the company is hoping, if all works out, to be prepared to hold live events by the end of the summer."

This is all fluid and the report continually stressed that the company is taking things day by day, but it also would not be surprising if we see some shows with limited capacity fans in the next couple of months. It's unlikely that there will be full arenas at that juncture, but if local regulations allow for 1/3 to 1/2 full venues it is easy to see WWE capitalizing on that. Outdoor venues could also be in play.

Of course, there could be unforeseen circumstances. Not very long after this report about fans came out, WWE confirmed that their tapings that were scheduled for tonight were postponed because a developmental talent tested positive for coronavirus. Nonetheless, if I were a betting man, I'd lay a few bucks down on there being some fans at some WWE shows in August.
