The Seattle CHOP district is no more

Cops and sanitation workers moved in Wednesday to put an end to the 51st state -- the CHOP district in Seattle -- and god bless the sanitation workers who have to spray down that area with whatever they spray down areas like this with. I have to assume soap like at a car wash isn't going to get the job done here. “I was just stunned by the amount of graffiti, garbage and property destruction,” Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said.

Next time someone tries to set up a 51st state inside a city they need to start thinking about how they're going to do garbage pickup, who's going to pay taxes to remove the garbage and definitely think about a beautification program. Sounds like where CHOP failed was in putting together a government to run the operation.
