After Zion Williamson Injury, Charles Barkley Demonstrates How To Properly Fall On Your A**
After landing awkwardly on his wrist, Zion Williamson headed to the locker room in the second quarter of the New Orleans Pelicans' game against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night. And the apparent injury prompted a teaching moment for Charles Barkley.
As the NBA on TNT halftime show played video of Williamson's fall, Barkley was visibly frustrated.
"Do not catch yourself, man. I hate when players do that," Barkley said. "Fall on your ass or something."
Barkley explained that — during his playing days — he and his teammates had to practice falling on their butts to avoid this very scenario.
"Show us," Shaq said. "Fall on your ass right now."
So that's exactly what Chuck did. He walked in front of the desk and demonstrated how he learned to awkwardly land on his rear end to avoid any hand or wrist injuries.
"Your body, it's got too much force," Barkley added. "You're going to break your finger or your wrist. Fall on your ass... Do not try to catch yourself."
Shaq, in a laughing fit, asked Barkley for an encore. Unfortunately, he didn't get one.
Fortunately for the Pelicans, though, Williamson was able to re-enter the game in the second half to help his team win 135-123. But as one of the most injury-prone guys in the NBA, his wrist scare had fans holding their breath.

"He is showing the world what he is about," New Orleans coach Willie Green said. "He had to gut through an injury tonight. He knew his teammates needed him, and he came through for us in the end."
The Pelicans have won three-straight games and currently hold the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. With wins in their final two regular season games, New Orleans can finish ahead of the Suns for the final automatic berth in the playoffs.
