WTF: Darren Waller Drops Another Strange Rap As Retirement News Looms

The Giants' top-paid tight end, Darren Waller, isn’t trending in the right direction.

As Waller holds out on telling the New York front office whether he’ll return for a 10th NFL season, the vet is still making headlines by dropping new music following his recently announced divorce from WNBA star Kelsey Plum.

Last week, Waller dropped a track titled, "Who Knew (Her Perspective," where an actress seemingly played the role of Plum in the music video, which ended with Waller getting stabbed in the back.

On Monday, Waller released a new rap that took shots at those speculating over his future in the NFL and his failed marriage to Plum after less than a year together. Sitting shirtless on his porch with a microphone and notepad, Waller rapped for nearly a minute, instilling no confidence in Giants fans that he’ll come back next season and live up to his elite contract. Sources around Waller expect him to retire before playing another game for the G-Men.

"Quit playing checkers on my board, I’m playing chess B*tch. And if I fall, my brothers pick me up like Byron Leftwich," Waller says in his new freestyle.

"Want a day in the life being me. Everything that happens ‘tween you and ya wife on TMZ," Waller continued. "Tryna kick the door in this rap s--- like a B and E. Speaking to the blind, it’s no wonder they wasn’t foreseeing me."

It's hard to tell if Waller's mad at the Giants or Kelsey Plum. New reports dropped on Monday, foreseeing that Waller may be calling it a career after so far missing Giants OTAs. The former Pro Bowler signed a three-year, $51 million contract extension with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022. The Giants traded for Waller last offseason, hoping he could help spearhead the Daniel Jones-led offense. Waller disappointed in his 12 games for Big Blue, recording 52 catches for 552 yards and a touchdown last year.

"It’s hard receiving a message from God that he’s taking back what you’ve blessed with. I’m foaming at the mouth, they know I ain’t the one to mess with," Waller's rap adds.
