West Virginia Coach Has Very Bold Words For Caitlin Clark
West Virginia women's basketball coach Mark Kellogg might come to regret a quick comment about Caitlin Clark.
The Mountaineers are the eight seed in the same regional Iowa and Clark are the one seed, and a win over Princeton would result in a showdown between the Hawkeyes and WVU.
Clark is the most famous college basketball player in America, a generational talent in the women's game and the most prolific scorer in major college basketball history.
Will West Virginia end Caitlin Clark's college career?
Might not be a great idea to not poke the bear, but Kellogg threw caution to the wind after finding out his team's seeding.
He decided to make it clear the plan is to beat Princeton and then "send Caitlin Clark packing." Bold, Wesley. Very bold.

Not very wise, Mark. Not very wise at all, my friend. Generally speaking, saying nothing is better than talking about sending the best player in America "packing."
Calling your own shot can turn out to be epic if you follow through……or there's another kind of outcome that might happen. You fail, it blows up in your face and people mock you endlessly.
Where do we think Mark Kellogg predicting his team can send Caitlin Clark back to Iowa will go? My theory is not great seeing as how the talent gap is significant!
And, yes, I get it. What else is Kellogg supposed to say? He faces a juggernaut of a program in the second round if the Mountaineers can beat Princeton. However, making predictions against Caitlin Clark just seems like a recipe for disaster. Fans will find out soon enough. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
