WBC Dumps Boxer Ryan Garcia After Gross Hate-Filled Twitter Rant

Some awful things have been said at boxing press conferences or while promoting fights. However, on the Fourth of July, boxer Ryan Garcia’s impromptu X Space (formerly known as "Twitter") was so disgusting that the World Boxing Council cut ties with him instantly.

Considering the characters in the history of boxing, you know it’s bad if the WBC expels someone. For reasons unbeknownst, Garcia used hate speech on X Thursday, including Blacks, Muslims, Christians, Mexicans, Israelis, and Palestinians. Furthermore, Garcia titled one of his X Spaces rooms: "George Floyd is a b***h".

The former WBC lightweight interim champion has been spiraling out of control all year. His breakthrough victory over Devin Haney April 20 was changed to a "no contest" when Garcia tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. This was after Garcia came into the fight 3.2 pounds overweight and forfeited a portion of his purse.

During the promotion of his fight with Haney, Garcia made weird public statements, such as accusing Elon Musk of being the Antichrist and predicting Biblical disasters in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. After the 25-year-old cheated to a majority decision victory over Haney, Garcia insisted it was all an act.

While Garcia may have been playing mind games with Haney in the lead-up to their fight, the California native clearly has issues. Garcia's parents quickly released a statement condemning their son's hate speech. People on X are saying Garcia needs help, but he might need a straightjacket instead.
