Watch: Manny Ramirez's & David Ortiz's Sons Both Go Yard In Prep Game
When it comes to talent, Manny Ramirez Jr. and D'Angelo Ortiz prove the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The sons of former Boston Red Sox greats Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz showed off their batting skills during a prep game where 16-year-old D'Angelo Ortiz saw 18-year-old Manny Ramirez Jr. homer the other day and had to keep pace on Tuesday.
Watch Ramirez and Ortiz's home runs below:
Ramirez was a nine-time Silver Slugger and was one of 27 players to hit 500 career home runs, per MLB.com. His 21 grand slams are third all-time, and his 29 postseason home runs are the most in MLB history. He appeared in 12 All-Star Games, with a streak of eleven consecutive games beginning in 1998 that included every season that he played with the Red Sox.
Ortiz, who also played with the Red Sox, was a ten-time All-Star, a three-time World Series champion, and a seven-time Silver Slugger winner. Ortiz also holds the Red Sox' single-season record for home runs with 54.
While neither of their sons are committed as part of the 2022 recruiting class, NBC Sports reports they are both likely to garner attention from colleges or be drafted straight out of high school if they continue to play at this level.
