Victor Wembanyama Casually Drops F-Bomb On Live All-Star Weekend Broadcast
As a rookie in the NBA, Victor Wembanyama is still learning the ropes. That includes what you can and can't say on live television.
The San Antonio Spurs center was on TNT speaking with the Inside the NBA crew during their broadcast of NBA’s All-Star weekend when he casually dropped an F-bomb.
It happened when Ernie Johnson asked Wembanyama for the best example of head coach Gregg Popovich's tough coaching style during his debut year.
The 20-year-old went on to describe a film session with Popovich from earlier in the season. In front of the team, Pop pointed out a mistake Wembanyama made.
"Sometimes he tries to send messages,’’ Wembanyama said. "I remember like two three months into the season, we are in the film in front of everybody, and he goes, ‘What the f-ck is this? This is what you were doing day one.’ …So yeah, sometimes he sends messages like that."
In fairness to Wemby, they asked!
The expletive did make it onto the live broadcast, but the crew — including Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith — all laughed it off.
The 7-foot-4 prodigy was the first overall pick in last year’s draft. Wembanyama was in Indianapolis as part of the NBA's annual skills challenge. He also played in the Rising Stars game on Friday.
