Influential UFC heavyweight fighter Mark Coleman's heroism saved his parents from a fire at his childhood home in Toledo, OH., early Tuesday.

Yet Coleman remains in the hospital, "battling for his life" following his brave act. In an update shared by his children on Tuesday, Coleman, 59, was seen intubated and in serious condition.

Coleman ran into the burning home three times.

The UFC Hall of Famer attempted to save the family's dog, Hammer, and suffered from smoke inhalation. Hammer died at the scene and Coleman was airlifted to a hospital.

Coleman's friend shared photos of the home's aftermath on X.

Coleman's daughter, Morgan, shared the update: "As many know, our dad was involved in a house fire early this morning along with his parents and beloved dog, hammer.

"He managed to carry both of his parents out of the house but despite his best efforts was not able to save Hammer. He was life-flighted to the hospital where he is currently battling for his life after this heroic act.

"Our father has always been our hero and means the world to us. He is and always will be a fighter. The strongest (and) bravest man I know. Please continue to pray for him and our family during this extremely difficult time. We will miss our sweet hammer so deeply.

"Thank you for all the love and support. Hammer house for life."

Coleman's friends and fans are asking for prayers for the UFC legend.
