UFC Fighter Derrick Lewis Moons Crowd, Throws Cup At Reporters
While most of America was watching the Northern Lights this weekend, the crowd at UFC Fight Night in St. Louis was staring at a full moon — courtesy of Derrick Lewis.
After his main-event knockout win against Rodrigo Nascimento, Lewis took off his shorts, pulled down his underwear and showed his bare butt to the unsuspecting fans at Enterprise Center.
And he made quite a spectacle of it, too. With Nascimento still laid out on the floor, Lewis jogged around the octagon and waved his shorts in the air. At some point during this performance, he also took out his cup (yes, THAT cup) and tossed it at the media table.
"I couldn’t let no taxicab driver from Brazil beat me," the heavyweight said in the octagon immediately after the fight. "It was my first time ever hearing of that guy."
Lewis defeated Nascimento 49 seconds into the third round to secure his 15th knockout. The 39-year-old said he still feels like he's in the prime of his career.
"I appreciate St. Louis for letting me show my naked ass tonight," Lewis said in his post-fight interview.
Not like they really had a choice.
The reporter who caught Lewis' cup said, "it doesn't smell bad at all."
Yes, a reporter was literally jock-sniffing at UFC Fight Night. And then it got weirder: He asked UFC President Dana White to autograph the souvenir.
"Very last question, it’s not a question, I was lucky enough to get Derrick Lewis’ cup. Would you mind signing it?"
White said he "would prefer not to," but then he reluctantly agreed. He said the reporter should probably have Lewis sign it instead.
Derrick Lewis' no-pants celebration was an encore of his antics in 2018. Following a knockout win at UFC 229, he stripped down to his skivvies before his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
Why?
"My balls was hot."
