Tyreek Hill Is Mad At Rick Ross For Going All Citizen Journalist During His House Fire
Earlier this year, Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill's Miami home caught on fire. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt, but the man they call Cheetah is still mad at one of his neighbors for how they acted during the blaze.
That neighbor just so happens to be rapper Rick Ross.
Hill's house caught fire on January 3, and while Ross was home at the time he didn't exactly spring into action to help with the issue at hand. Instead, he threw on his citizen journalist cap and streamed the house fire on Instagram Live.
You can understand why this didn't sit too well with Hill and he addressed it on The Pivot Podcast hosted by ex-NFLers Fred Taylor, Channing Crowder, and Ryan Clark.
"First off, I just wanna say, Rick Ross, bro, I can’t vibe with you now, bro," Hill said of his neighbor, per The New York Post. "I can’t f--k with you no more bro."
Oh no. You know it's serious when all vibing and f--king with is called off for the foreseeable future.
"Rick Ross man. You had the audacity to talk to a fireman instead of come protect," Hill continued. "You got my number, bro.
"You get on Twitter, posting me all over Twitter, like, after what me and my family went through. You’re supposed to be the neighbor. The neighborhood hero!"
I get what he's saying, but you can't look at Rick Ross and expect him to start carrying people out of burning buildings.
However, you can understand why Hill is upset, especially since while this was happening, Ross stood outside and speculated about the cause of the fire. Ross claimed the fire was electrical because the smoke was getting "thicker and thicker."
It turns out that the fire was started by a kid messing around with a lighter, so Ross couldn't have been more wrong.
Hill may have also objected to Ross downplaying the fire, saying that Hill had the money to build a new house.
"Lil bro gonna have to build a new crib, it’s all good tho," Ross said in the Instagram live. "Dropped 10 [million] on this one, ya heard me? You build another one you feel me? Live it up."
I mean… that's not wrong. It's just that there's a time and a place, Rick.
After the episode went public, Ross offered an apology…
Yes, that is a bottle of some Belaire Luxe Champagne (which he promotes) in the foreground.
"Tyreek Hill, I wasn’t picking on you homie," Ross said. "I wasn’t picking on you at all."
He then said Hill's wealth and great home-owners insurance would allow him to get new "porcelain floors, marble walls, (and) pillars" like he expects Hill to go out and build his own version of the Acropolis.
"More importantly your beautiful mother and your family were straight," Ross said. "They were straight. I didn't film none of them, homie."
Will this video olive branch — complete with champagne product placement — be enough for these two neighbors to bury the hatchet?
Only time will tell…
