Tyreek Hill Implies Black Players Would Lose Their Jobs If They Acted Like Travis Kelce In Super Bowl

Who bet the moneyline on an NFL player being racist before halftime of the Super Bowl? If so, you’re a winner.

During the second quarter of Super Bowl LVIII, Travis Kelce got incredibly frustrated with Andy Reid for taking him off the field on a red zone play. Kansas City Chiefs running back Isaiah Pacheco fumbled the ball on that play in question, and the 49ers recovered it.

Kelce felt like he should have been on the field, and as such confronted head coach Andy Reid. And by "confrontation," I mean that he bumped an unsuspecting Reid and yelled vehemently in his face.

OutKick’s Dan Zaksheske correctly said this was ridiculous behavior, especially considering that Kelce’s presence on the field probably wouldn’t have changed the outcome of that play.

After this situation unfolded, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown tweeted out his perspective on the play. It was self-centered, probably because he’s one of the more self-focused players in the NFL.

After Brown sent out his thoughts into the social media universe, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill responded to this original tweet. That’s where racism came in.

Hill said that the reason Brown would (hypothetically) get kicked out of the NFL for something like this is because he’s black.

That’s right. One of the best players in the NFL said that he’d be jobless for rough behavior because he’s black.

What’s interesting is that Tyreek Hill of all people said this. Remember, this is the same guy who pleaded guilty to strangling his pregnant girlfriend in 2015 (while in college), yet still got a job in the NFL making millions as one of the best players in the league. You’d think a guy with that past would have a little more of a redemptive and patient perspective towards other players who mess up.

Also, countless other superstars who’ve had domestic troubles in the past - and who are black - got other opportunities to keep their jobs in the NFL at some point in their career. But now we're going to say that black dudes don’t get the benefit of the doubt when they mess up?

Hill should have kept the racist lecture to himself. All of America could have enjoyed the Super Bowl without it.
