Tom Brady Torches Young Athletes For Being Selfish: VIDEO

Tom Brady doesn't sound like the biggest fan of the current generation of athletes coming through the pipeline.

Brady ended his NFL career with seven Super Bowl rings and is widely-considered the greatest player in league history. He was also known during his playing days as being an incredible leader.

The former Pats and Bucs QB demanded the most out of his teammates. Buy-in was mandatory if you wanted to roll with Brady. The team had to come first.

He's not sure that's a mentality that exists much with young people these days.

Tom Brady rips selfish young athletes.

"And I think the biggest problem with a lot of f*cking kids these days is it’s all about them. It’s all about them. Their brand, their social media. When it’s about me and not us, well there’s no way to succeed as a team if all you’re doing is thinking about how selfish it is for you to get the attention," Brady said during a recent appearance on the DeepCut Podcast.

That's about as blunt as it gets in terms of sharing your feelings on selfish athletes. You can watch his comments below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Is there anyone who is going to argue that Brady doesn't have a point? It might not be a problem every young athlete or team deals with, but it's definitely growing.

Look no further than NIL and the transfer portal in college sports. Guys will cut and run if they don't feel like they're playing enough or getting enough money. Gone are the days of slowly developing over time and being patient.

It's all about instant gratification for many guys. American culture as a whole is starting to become a "look at me" culture, and sports are exempt from that. Look at how many guys are flashy on social media before really doing anything? There are major football and basketball recruits who build massive brands before ever even playing on a big stage.

At the same time, you do have some guys who are low-key and not about getting attention. While Caleb Williams might love the spotlight, a guy like Drake Maye is wildly talented and pretty much unheard of outside of his play on the field. Arch Manning was the most-hyped recruit in the past several years, and he's barely on social media at all and opted out of "College Football 25."

While it doesn't apply to everyone, Brady's overall point stands. Let me know if you agree or disagree at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
