Tom Brady Hits Up Miami Grand Prix, Seemingly Inspires Williams' Logan Sargeant
The Miami International Autodrome — you may know it as the Hard Rock Stadium parking lot — is the place to see and be seen this weekend with Formula 1 in town, and if you thought that Tom Brady was going to miss out, you'd be mistaken.
Who wouldn't want to catch some racing and pony up absurd amounts of money for food?!
Hey, if there's ever a place to order a $280 tray of lobster rolls, why not the Miami Grand Prix?
Anyway, this weekend, the greatest quarterback of all time was spotted in the garages at Williams where he chatted with the lone American on the grid, Logan Sargeant.
I don't know what he told them, because after Williams had a brutal Sprint Qualifying session with both cars qualifying at the back of the grid, he turned it around on Saturday.
Sargeant moved up to P18 for the Sprint thanks to his teammate Alex Albon starting from the pit lane and a penalty to Alpine's Esteban Ocon. From that starting spot, he finished P10 in just 19 laps.
Of course, it didn't hurt that Haas' Kevin Magnussen racked up about an hour-and-a-half worth of penalties, but I think some inspiration from TB12 didn't hurt.
Brady was only on hand for Friday's sessions, which, lucky for him is usually when it's the least crowded.
That was because Brady had to hop on a plane and high-tail it back to the Left Coast for another engagement.
"F1 competition is TOUGH," Brady wrote. "Good to luck to everyone on the grid tomorrow, I’m off to LA to get ROASTED."
That's right, he's headed to Los Angeles to get roasted as part of the Netflix Is A Joke festival.
That's one hell of a weekend.
