Ticket Prices To See Arizona Coyotes' Potential Final Home Game Are Sky-High

The tickets to go see the Arizona Coyotes host the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday are outrageously expensive, but not because the team is any good.

Arizona is 35-40-5 on the year (good for 75 points), but they Coyotes have been eliminated from playoff contention for the fourth year in a row. Sure, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are coming to town, but other than that, there really isn’t that strong of a selling point for this matchup.

In most years, this would be a relatively pointless game at the end of a season between two teams on different paths (the Oilers are going to the playoffs). But this year, things are different.

Rumors are swirling that next season, the Coyotes will no longer play in Arizona. Instead, the franchise will relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah, and the league is already planning a schedule in case the team ends up moving there. Wednesday night could be the last time that Arizona will host a professional hockey game for the foreseeable future.

That’s why the team is trying to make a little extra cash for this clash with the Oilers. But just how much money will it cost to get into Mullett Arena for one last game?

It depends on the website, but regardless, it’s not cheap.

On Friday, prices ranged anywhere from $284 on VividSeats to $334 on Ticketmaster. While that’s insane in its own right, Bar Down shared on Instagram that some tickets are being resold for $630 - in the standing room. The most expensive have reached $2,600.

Other sites have reported higher average numbers, but the bottom line is they're wild.

I’m all for being  present to witness sports history, and if there are die-hard Coyotes fans willing to drop over two grand on a ticket for a potential last hurrah for their team, they should feel free to do so. Why not treat yourself to something nice, right?

But all I’m saying is that Arizona had better win. Otherwise, it will be a historic night for people’s bank accounts - for the wrong reasons.
