Three Men Face Federal Charges In Connection To Chiefs Parade Shooting
Justice is on the way…
Three men are looking at federal gun charges for their connection to the tragic Feb. 14 shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs parade that left one woman dead.
Arrests were made for Fedo Antonia Manning, 22, Ronnel Dewayne Williams Jr., 21, and Chaelyn Hendrick Groves, 19.
The men did not fire shots during the parade but are being investigated for alleged firearms trafficking and illegal straw purchases.
Manning is accused of purchasing the AM-15 .223-caliber pistol recovered at the scene; authorities also discovered two AR-15 rifles. Prosecutors accused Manning of purchasing and distributing more than a dozen illegal firearms.
The firefight between criminals and potential gang members at the parade resulted in the death of Kansas City DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and wife. Additionally, 22 people required medical attention after suffering injuries at the parade, including 11 injured children.
New details provided by FOX2Now noted that a total of 12 people at the parade carried firearms and six of those individuals fired their weapons at the scene.
One of the shooters, Lyndell Mays, admitted to firing first. He suffered nine gunshot wounds and appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court on Monday; the judge rejected a motion to have the shooters' bond modified.
As for the detained shooters, police in Kansas City charged several juveniles in connection with Lopez-Galvan's death. A total of four suspects have been charged stemming from the tragic Union Station scene.
Police separately arrested two juveniles who are now facing gun-related charges, though prosecutors don't believe they played a role in Lopez-Galvan's fatal shooting.
