Texans Executive Still Bitter Over The Titans Wearing Throwback Oilers Uniforms Against Them Last Season

The Tennessee Titans may have worn their throwback Houston Oilers uniforms against the Houston Texans over four months ago, but Hannah McNair, wife of Texans owner Cal McNair, is still bitter about it.

The Titans decided to rock their elite, ‘Columbia Blue’ Oilers throwbacks when the Texans visited Nashville back in December. The decision to wear the uniforms was almost certainly a deliberate one, serving as a playful shot at Houston. Bud Adams, the father of current Titans owner Amy Adams-Strunk, moved the Oilers franchise from Houston to Tennessee after the 1996 NFL season.

Now, the Texans have a new color-rush uniform featuring ‘H-Town Blue’ that is awfully similar to the ‘Columbia Blue,' which is owned by the Titans.

All of this blue colorway and new uniform talk presented McNair with an opportunity to share her thoughts about the Titans wearing the throwback uniforms last season, and it's clear she still isn't happy about it.

"We heard that loud and clear from our fans: They wanted H-Town Blue represented. They wanted Houston represented," Cal McNair told SportsRadio 610’s In the Loop. "So, we worked with the NFL, and there was some push and shove, and we came to where we could get to with the NFL, giving us a compromise, sort of a certain percentage in the uniform.

"I think our fans would like more, and we’re probably in that same boat, but we’re working with the powers that be with the league and all that stuff to get to where we could get."

She was then asked to explain what she meant by saying "some push and shove," which is when she took aim at the Titans.

"Who started it?" McNair said. "[The Titans did by] wearing it against us. And if anyone was at [last year’s game in Tennessee], their in-house PA was instigating it. It was unbelievable but also wonderful because we finished the story, OK? So, I mean, who’s salty here?"

While McNair's comments are strange, the Texans have beaten the Titans on three straight occasions, so she's earned some room to take a few jabs at one of Houston's top rivals in the league.
