We have one of our best scholarship surprise videos of the college football season.

The season is still a few months away, but we all know this is the time of year coaches like to hand out scholarships to walk-ons who worked extra hard to earn one.

I haven't seen any big ones so far, and it appears Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has now broken the ice for what will be a couple months of this happening weekly.

The Texas Longhorns shared a video of Sarkisian surprising kicker Bert Auburn with a scholarship after making it clear the walk-ons work just as hard as the regular roster.

It's simply true. Plus, there's a lot of pessimism in the world to begin with. We need more optimism and joy. Sarkisian surprising a Texas kicker with a scholarship is simply awesome.

Auburn is also no bum when it comes to his role on the team. He's appeared in 28 games for the Longhorns and was a All-Big 12 First Team selection in 2023 after hitting 29 field goals.

I'm honestly surprised he wasn't already on scholarship considering the accolades and accomplishments under his belt in Austin.
