Stephen A. Smith-Tom Brady Discussion Will Headline First Fanatics Fest In NYC

Fanatics Fest NYC has announced a major headlining event featuring Tom Brady and Stephen A. Smith who will hop on stage with each other and have a chat as the GOAT prepares for his new career as a broadcaster.

Now, the big question: what the hell is Fanatics Fest NYC?

Well, how about we tackle that one first? Fanatics Fest NYC is an event being put on by retail giant Fanatics, and it will feature some huge names from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and sports entertainment.

I mean, just a quick glance at the guest list and I can see that Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning, Ben Stiller, Cody Rhoads, Ozzie Smith, Paige Spiranac, and Rhea Ripley are just a few of the attendees.

So, it's like a comic con without all of the BO famously associated with comic cons… alright, maybe not without it, but probably less.

But then how do you cook up a headlining event when you've got a roster full of headliners?

Well, that's where what's being billed a "no-holds-barred interview" that Smith will conduct with Brady comes in.

Y'know, as opposed to all of those interviews where there are plenty of holds barred.

"Two of the biggest names in sports are set to collide at Fanatics Fest NYC on Friday, August 16th as the festival’s main stage will host ‘True Grit with Tom Brady hosted by Stephen A. Smith,’ an exclusive discussion featuring the NFL’s most decorated quarterback and one of sports media’s most influential voices," a press release says, per Awful Announcing.

I've got to be honest, I would absolutely go see this if given half a chance. I think Brady has already proven to be solid behind a microphone, and love or hate him, there's no denying that Stephen A. is one of the best in the biz too.

Surely they're going to be telling some stories and giving some insights that wouldn't be heard anywhere else.

Maybe some of Stephen A.'s broadcasting acumen will rub off on Brady too as he gears up for his NFL debut (broadcasting debut, duh) on September 8 when the Cowboys face the Browns.
