Steph Curry And Steve Kerr Predictably Throw Their Support To Kamala Harris For President At Olympics

Ahead of Team USA's run for a gold medal in the Paris Olympics, both Steph Curry and Steve Kerr endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming Presidential Election. Curry, and even more so Kerr, have publicly leaned left for years while aligning with Democratic Party policies, so their endorsement of Harris is no surprise.

President Biden announced on Sunday that he would not be running for re-election shortly before endorsing Harris as the Democratic Party's nominee for President. Kerr and Curry are just the latest high-profile sports figures to lob support in Harris' direction.

"Vice President Harris is primed to bring her energy to this campaign and hopefully she’s on the ticket winning the election but it’s a big deal to say the least," Curry said, via ESPN. "She represents the Bay Area. She’s been a big supporter of us, so, I want to give that energy right back to her.

"Just excited on, obviously we’re representing our country, this is a monumental next couple months for our country and the direction that we’re heading. Hopefully, this is a great way to do our part and continue to unifying the country. Sports brings a lot of people together. For her in this moment, knowing what’s ahead, it’s all about positive energy and optimism knowing how divided our country is right now."

Curry did not mention that the Biden administration is responsible for some of the divide in the country nor mention anything about the failed assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump.

Kerr's message of support for VP Harris was more straightforward. "Kamala Harris is a great candidate and I will support her," according to Andscape.

The Kerr and Curry-led Golden State Warriors refused to meet with President Trump at the White House to celebrate their multiple championships during his time in the Oval Office not once, but twice.
