St. Louis Cardinals Player Says Celebration Was Definitely Not About Donald Trump

Listen, it wasn't a "Trump thing" … even if it kinda was a Trump thing.

The St. Louis Cardinals showed off one of their home run celebrations Sunday after Alec Burleson nailed a 435-footer against the Atlanta Braves.

The timing of it was certainly convenient.

After Burleson's bomb, players in the St. Louis dugout held a fist up and covered their ears with the other hand.

The move comes just a week after the failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump, so naturally everyone and their mothers assumed the Cardinals were paying tribute to No. 45 — alive and thriving.

Sadly, the Cardinals walked back the celebration — pretending like it was not a Trump thing … even after baseball fans received a Trump-centric celebration already Sunday, courtesy of Tampa Bay's fearless Taylor Walls.

St. Louis veteran Matt Carpenter spoke with the media after Sunday's 6-2 clobbering over Atlanta. As it turns out, according to Derrick Goold at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the celebration was the team's callback to Burleson's college rap career, mimicking a DJ's stage performance.

Burleson's rap nickname was also revealed to be "Biscuit".

"Definitely not a political statement, that is off base," Carpenter shared.

YOU DECIDE, WATCH:

Even if Trump has all the momentum heading into November's election, the current political climate still seemingly straightens out any attempts to support the former president.

People are still intimidated by the ramifications of the mainstream media for supporting Trump, even if behind closed doors, they're bleeding Red, White and Blue for Trump.

OutKick's Tomi Lahren revealed her thoughts on Tampa Bay's celebration and the discrete support that athletes feel for Trump, which could also be a product of the Democratic Party's gaslighting against supporters who don't lean dramatically left in their politics.

Lahren posted, "They shouldn’t be shocking to anyone who knows baseball or baseball players. 90% of them are conservative. Coaches too."

Surely, it's only a matter of time before Kamala gets a celebration. At least that what Dems hope.
