Shout Out To This Guy For Being The Only One To Storm An NCAA Court

Let's be honest, storming the court after NCAA basketball games has become pretty lame. What once was a "here we goooo!" Braveheart-type victory run onto the hardwood floor has become so routine now that it takes away from what made it special in the first place.

For example, just a few weeks ago when South Carolina fans stormed the court after the Gamecocks defeated Kentucky, that was pathetically lame. Why? Because South Carolina was 15-3 and Kentucky was 14-3. Like, what are we doing here, people? I understand getting caught in the hype of the moment, but we really need college fans to have some damn integrity.

And when I think about integrity, I immediately think Detroit, Michigan Roman Catholic University ‘Detroit Mercy.’

HISTORIC COURT STORMING MOMENT

Let's head on over to Detroit, Michigan for last night's Detroit Mercy men's basketball game against IUPUI, which is a school that has way too many letters.  Imagine saying that out loud.  "Yeah, I go to eye-you-pee-you-eye," uh, come again?

But the real excitement came as the clock was heading to 0:00.

That's when a man of class, integrity, perseverance and most importantly, faith, was able to savor up all his energy when Detroit Mercy finally broke their 0-26 losing streak.

Unfortunately, I don't know the person's name, so we'll just call him "the guy."

DETROIT MERCY HADN'T WON IN 26 GAMES

After Detroit Mercy's miraculous 81-66 victory over IUPUI, the guy decided to storm the court. Now, I don't know if you're familiar with Detroit Mercy, but it isn't really a big draw these days (or ever for the matter).

But that didn't stop the guy who was probably stretching his legs during halftime salivating for the moment when he could celebrate his team snapping the Horizon League record for most consecutive losses.

As the buzzer sounded, my man went right onto center court and even did a little bit of a hop and dance with both arms stretched in the air as if he was the Detroit version of Rocky Balboa. Well done sir, this is what court-storming dreams are made of.

And although we'll always Remember the (Detroit Mercy) Titans, social media sports fans will always remember The Guy.
