Shohei Ohtani's Former Interpreter Ippei Mizuhara Delivers Meals For Uber Eats, Days After Guilty Plea
Shohei Ohtani's ex-interpreter has been spotted working for Uber Eats, days after pleading guilty to federal bank fraud charges targeting the famed MLB player.
Former translator Ippei Mizuhara's fall from grace extends with his recent outing. The New York Post obtained exclusive photos showing Mizuhara picking up and dropping off meals — with a cig break added in — around the Los Angeles area.
As reported on OutKick, federal prosecutors charged Ippei Mizuhara, and the interpreter pleaded guilty to bank and tax fraud. Mizuhara, 39, admitted to taking nearly $17 million from Ohtani in order to pay off debts accrued in sports betting.
While it's not a bad way to make a living, Mizuhara's plans to cover up that debt via Uber Eats may take a couple of … decades.
Mizuhara's fall to start the 2024 season rocked the league and Ohtani, once seen as a spotless MLB superstar.

Ohtani's introduction to the Dodgers was marred as news of Mizuhara's crimes dropped the same day he debuted in blue, facing the divisional rival San Diego Padres in South Korea.
Separate investigations — one federal and another by MLB — identified Ohtani, 29, as a victim of fraud after skepticism arose surrounding the $700 million player's involvement in placing illegal bets in Southern California.
Mizuhara faces up to 33 years in prison. He has a sentencing hearing set for Oct. 25.
