Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns Would Withdraw From Masters If Their Very Pregnant Wives Go Into Labor

Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns will both be focused on trying to get their hands on a green jacket at the Masters this week, but their minds may sometimes wander to a far more important piece in their lives as they walk the grounds of Augusta National as both of their wives are back home counting down the days until they welcome their first child.

As for which player will be the most on edge throughout the week, that falls on the shoulders of Burns as his wife, Caroline, is due in less than 10 days. Scheffler's wife, Meredith, still has three weeks until her due date arrives.

Having said that, as any parent knows, due dates are simply a ballpark estimate and Burns and Scheffler could become dads at seemingly any moment.

During Golf Channel's Monday edition of ‘Live From The Masters,' Todd Lewis reported that if either get the call that their wives are going into labor during the tournament then they would immediately withdraw and do everything in their power to get to the hospital.

Neither Burns' wife or Scheffler's wife made the trip to Augusta given their fast approaching due dates. Burns resides in small town Choudrant, Louisiana while Scheffler calls Dallas home, which both are thankfully short treks on a private jet if they do end up getting the life-changing call.

One could say Scheffler has taken full advantage of his last couple of months before becoming a father and inevitably spending less time on the golf course in the near future. In his eight starts this season, Scheffler has earned two wins to go along with five more Top 10 finishes earning plenty of diaper money.

While Burns hasn't found the winner's circle in 2024, he's earned four Top 10 finishes in his eight starts while missing just one cut along the way.

It's unlikely that the two couples planned to have their first children so close together, but it's certainly a cool story given that Scheffler and Burns are very close friends.
