Scottie Scheffler's Caddie Is Seriously Sick At The Open, Seen Lying Down Between Shots

Scottie Scheffler's caddie, Ted Scott, is absolutely battling on day two of The Open at Royal Troon.

During the early coverage of Scheffler's second round on Friday, the broadcast noted that Scott was under the weather, but based on his actions throughout the day, he appears to be deathly ill.

Throughout the round, Scott was seen lying on the ground between holes. At one point, Shane Lowry and Matt Fitzpatrick, who were playing in front of Scheffler's group, came over to check on Scott.

Brody Miller of The Athletic shared insight and photos from Scott's quick siestas.

It's tough to imagine a more miserable task while you're sick than caddying. Walking 6+ miles in cold, wet and windy conditions and constantly stopping and starting with a 50+ pound bag strapped to your back when you're so sick you can't even stand is a real-life nightmare.

Credit to Scott for sticking Friday out though. While Scheffler's traveling team in Scotland is likely smaller than it usually is back in the States, he could have easily found a body to carry his bag for 18 holes today and let Scott recover.

It's been an interesting past few months for Scott on the bag. During the PGA Championship - where Scheffler was arrested outside the venue ahead of the second round - Scott left to attend his daughter's high school graduation during the third round.

Scheffler shot a 73 on that Friday without Scott by his side before coming back with Scott firing a 65 the next day with his trusty caddie back on the bag.

The World No. 1 has managed things very well with a sick Scott by his side as he's in red figures with a few holes left to play in his second round at Troon.
