Saquon Barkley Gets Into It With Knicks Fans After Courtside Appearance During 76ers Playoff Game

New York sports fans do not forget and they certainly do not forgive, and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was reminded of that after the Knicks bounced the 76ers from the NBA playoffs on Thursday night.

Barkley bolted from New York in March after spending his first six seasons in the NFL with the Giants. While we may be nearing two full months since he left the organization and made his way to Philly, New York fans very clearly haven't let his exit from The Big Apple go.

Barkley sat courtside during Game Six between the Knicks and 76ers in Philadelphia on Thursday night alongside new Eagles teammate AJ Brown. New York fans took notice, and let the former Penn State star know how they truly felt about him.

Barkley was looking for some confrontation, however, given that he was the first to fire off a post on X, formerly Twitter, about his experience inside a building with plenty of visiting Knicks fans.

One New York fan in particular got a response from Barkley when they reminded the running back.

"You bailed. On New York. Sow the win, reap the whirlwind," the fan wrote, before Barkley ‘educated’ him in his response.

Barkley claimed that he can't be a "traitor" in the eyes of New York sports fans.

It's an incredibly safe bet to assume that Barkley's return to MetLife Stadium during the 2024 NFL season will not be a homecoming.

Thursday night was overall a pretty rough experience for Barkley, not only did he have to deal with his social media mentions being flooded by New York fans, but the Sixers ended up getting eliminated by the Knicks on their home floor.
