Saints Have Been Training In A Walk-In Freezer Ahead Of Game At Lambeau

Playing at Lambeau Field this time of year is always a challenge, and it sounds like the New Orleans Saints are doing whatever they can to make sure they're ready to get whacked in the face by the frigid air that they'll encounter on Monday against the Packers.

And how exactly are they doing that? Hopping in the team's walk-in freezer, of course.

ESPN's Katherine Terrell reported that Saints quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko decided to hold some meetings in the team cafeteria's walk-in freezer.

"This morning, Janocko took us in the cafeteria freezer, where it was like 10 degrees, and we're just going through the whole script in there, and so just doing that, that helped a lot," signal caller Spencer Rattler said. "So hopefully it's not 10 degrees, but we'll be ready."

This sounds ridiculous, and it is. Just imagine these dudes preparing for an NFL game surrounded by boxes of protein bars and Uncrustables.

Hilarious. 

However, this will work to an extent, I'm sure of it.

I mean, think of the big walk-in freezer where they keep all the produce at Costco. That's intense, and I don't even think it's anywhere near as cold as the one the Saints were meeting in, and I still have to be in the right frame of mind to brave it.

I have definitely had moments where I was about to walk in, felt the first wisp of cold air, and said, "You know what? I don't think I need blueberries this week," and totally skipped it.

I'm not sure if this kind of thing will fully prepare anyone for hitting the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, but hey, it can't hurt, can it?

The Saints are still technically in playoff contention, but they would need several miracles to happen for them to get into the postseason.

But stranger things have happened, and it will all start with them stealing a win on the road in Green Bay.
