Ryan Leaf Nukes Social Media Troll Mocking Him With Blunt Message

Ryan Leaf lit up a social media troll, and did it while staying classy.

Leaf is known for being the man picked right after Peyton Manning in the 1998 NFL Draft, but unlike Manning, his career didn't pan out. He was out of the NFL after a few very disappointing seasons, and then ran into a lot of legal issues that resulted in him ending up in prison.

Fortunately, Leaf has managed to turn his life around and is now a great example of what is possible when you set your mind to it.

However, some people just can't let his failed NFL career go. The good news is that Leaf has no problems handling them.

Ryan Leaf crushes social media troll.

Ryan Leaf was enjoying some social media action Wednesday while his daughter was sleeping, and it resulted in a wild back and forth with user @S0A4P.

The X user asked why Leaf was searching his name (not clear that he was, but read into that as much as you want), and wrote, "Baby is taking her 11 am nap, I finished my work, and it’s draft time, so I know a bunch of dumb f*cks are talking sh*t and I’m the righteous hand of Busts to lay a reckoning down upon thee, until my baby girl wakes up, which she just may have. Have a great one Soapster!"

@S0A4P asked if Leaf's daughter knows he was an NFL "bust," and the former Chargers QB responded with nothing but class. Talking to her about being an NFL bust won't be the issue. His criminal history is what concerns him.

"She’s 14 weeks, she’ll find out, there are assholes like you everywhere eager to shout it from the basements. I think the being a drug addict and 7 time convicted felon may be the harder conversation, but we trudge on," the former second overall pick responded.

This is how you handle a social media troll. This is the best response possible. Could Leaf have gotten angry and escalated? Sure. Probably even would have been justified.

Yet, that's not what he did. He chose to have a classy response that makes it clear he's very aware of the mistakes he made in life.

You can either run from your past or you can embrace it. Leaf is choosing the latter, and there's no question he's a better person for it.

Props to Leaf for not taking the bait and responding in unnecessary fashion. He took the high road and looks great for doing so.
