Ryan Garcia Arrested For Felony Vandalism At Swanky Beverly Hills Hotel

Ryan Garcia was arrested Saturday for felony vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills.

The boxing superstar allegedly trashed his hotel room and the hallway before the Beverly Hills Police Department intervened. The hotel alleges that Garcia caused more than $15,000 in damage, according to police. Any damage over $400 is considered a felony in California.

Video from TMZ Sports shows Garcia — handcuffed, shirtless and wearing a helmet — being led out of the hotel by officers.

After he was booked at the Beverly Hills Police Department jail, Garcia reportedly complained of a medical issue and was transferred to a local hospital for evaluation. Garcia's attorney, Darin Chavez, said his client may also be charged with public intoxication.

Chavez cited Garcia's recent struggles with mental health and said the boxer recently received "devastating" news about his mother's health. His mom is currently battling breast cancer.

"Ryan has been open about his struggles with mental health over the years, and at this time he is dealing with an immense emotional burden," Chavez said in a statement. "The support and understanding from fans and the public are crucial as he navigates these personal challenges.

"We are working diligently to provide Ryan with the resources he needs. Our team is committed to ensuring that he receives the appropriate help and care to address both his immediate and long-term well-being. We ask for continued support and compassion as Ryan focuses on his family and his health at this time."

Police previously visited Garcia in the same hotel on Wednesday after one of his family members called for a wellness check, according to TMZ Sports. Later that night, the outlet reported, hotel staff cut him off from drinking.

Add this arrest to the list of troubles Garcia has faced in the past couple of months. The 25-1 contender is coming off a non-title majority decision win against WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney, but the result of the fight is in jeopardy after Garcia tested positive for a banned substance. He now faces suspension from the New York Athletic Commission, which is currently reviewing the situation.
