Chiefs Receiver Rashee Rice Issues Apology After Hit-And-Run Incident

Ascending Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has issued a public apology following his involvement in a significant car collision in Dallas this past weekend. The incident has cast a shadow over his otherwise solid start to his young NFL career.

Rice's mishap on North Central Expressway involved one vehicle registered under his name and a separate sports vehicle that was assumed to be racing before crashing.

"Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident," Rashee's apology read. "I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident."

A Corvette (reportedly registered to Rice) and a Lamborghini were seen speeding through the expressway before losing control.

As a result of the collision, four additional vehicles were involved in the wreck, causing significant damage and potential harm to their occupants. Adding to the severity of the situation, Rice chose to flee the scene.

The second-year wideout released a statement, apologizing for his involvement and apologizing to all those involved who suffered injuries. Four motorists were reportedly injured; two of the motorists required medical attention.

Rice's attorney, Royce West, previously commented that the 23-year-old had communicated with authorities regarding the crash. Footage emerged over the weekend showing Rice and four more individuals fleeing the scene.

As NPR relayed, a 27-year-old woman accompanied by her 4-year-old son was caught up in the "chain reaction" wreck.

"No one stopped," the woman commented. "It's the fact that there was no sympathy shown to where y'all can even have the decency to stop and check to make sure someone's OK, someone's alive."

In his first season for K.C., Rice tallied 79 catches for 938 yards with seven touchdowns.
