Rapper Master P Wants To Help Coach The New Orleans Pelicans

Rapper Master P wants a coaching job in the NBA, and if podcaster J.J. Redick is getting looks as a potential head coach, why not consider Master P a serious candidate, too?

Being an ex-player and holding a media person off the court, Master P is as qualified as, or more qualified than, Redick as a coaching candidate.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, the hip-hop mogul shared his interest in helping the New Orleans Pelicans win an NBA title.

To make this a reality, Master P made a plea to the Pelicans, vying for a job as an assistant coach (based on no real plans to fire current coach Willie Green).

Like other Pelicans fans, Master P has grown weary of the Western team's inability to be more than a first-round playoff team.

This year, the Pelicans suffered a first-round sweep against the No. 1-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, albeit losing the series without star Zion Williamson.

"I think we got a great team, I just think that maybe we got to wait a couple more years," Master P told the outlet.

Master P's master plan also promises an immediate return on investment. He promised to help lead the Pelicans to a 2025 championship title if the Pelicans hired him ASAP.

He boldly declared, "Y'all need to put me on the coaching staff next year, and we gon' win the whole thing,."

The rapper has a 4-star guard prospect as a son (Mercy Miller, seen in the video), so his coaching pedigree may have more game than meets the eye.

Master P also played in the NBA, joining Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady's Toronto Raptors team in the 1990s for a stint.

With a big roster shakeup expected, Master P may want to avoid this headache in New Orleans.

The Pelicans finished eighth in the Western Conference with a 49-33 record.
