Phillies OF Brandon Marsh Picks Three Teammates For His Hypothetical Rock Band Which Needs To Be A Thing
The MLB may have just found a new content machine in Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh.
In the top of the third inning of last night’s game against the San Francisco Giants, Marsh was mic’d up and doing an in-game interview with the ESPN crew. At the conclusion of their discussion, David Cone posed a question from a fan to Marsh.
The question was, if Marsh was to start a rock band with any of his Phillies teammates, who would be in it and what would he name it.
Now most guys might be caught off guard by this prompt. But Marsh’s face seemed to say "Aha, my time has come." He looked like a dude who had been waiting his whole career to answer this exact scenario.
He quickly named catcher Garrett Stubbs and left fielder Kyle Schwarber. Those are two homerun choices - pun intended - both guys perfectly fit the vibe of what you’d need to be in a rock band. Do they play any musical instruments? I’m not sure.
But they’re both low-key and fun-loving guys, and that’s what is most important. If Marsh gets this band to actually come together, they can learn a new instrument. How hard can it be to master the bass guitar or drums? (It’s probably pretty hard, but they could do it).
In the middle of his answer, Marsh briefly had to stop daydreaming about his dream team rock band to do his job in the outfield. Giants designated hitter Wilmer Flores hit a fly ball in his direction, which Marsh gleefully tracked down to end the inning.
On his way back to the dugout, Marsh named fellow outfielder Cristian Pasche as the fourth member of his rock quartet. But we needed a name for this hypothetical group of musical geniuses. Fortunately, Marsh gave us one: "Stay Loose and Sexy."
Is it the best name ever? Probably not, it’s a little long and clunky. But would I listen to an album they release? Absolutely.
In no time at all, the Philadelphia Eagles might not be the only sports team in the City of Brotherly Love to have their own band.
