The Phillies' Secret Weapon To Success May Just Be The Ginormous Fog Machine In Their Clubhouse

Forget the bats they have in their lineup or the pitching in the bullpen, the most important piece of the Philadelphia Phillies may just be the giant fog machine they have in their clubhouse.

The Phillies, owners of the best record in baseball, swept the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this week in dominating fashion and celebrated by filling their clubhouse with fog. According to MLB's Todd Zolecki, it wasn't a light fog, either, but a "comically heavy" one at that.

Apparently, this whole fog scene has been a thing for years at this point, with Aaron Nola originally purchasing one and putting it next to Zack Wheeler's locker only to upgrade to a new heavy-duty one that can fill the entire room.

"The other one was leaking," Nola said. "I ran out of [fog] juice, so I bought some other juice and it was weak. Wheels’ locker was getting sticky and stuff because it was leaking."

"That thing is nice," he said while looking over at his new and improved fog machine.

I'm not sure what leads a man to buy a giant fog machine to throw inside your professional baseball team's clubhouse and blast the thing after big-time wins, but I don't hate it. I guess when you sign a contract worth more than $170 million you start running out of items to buy and at some point, your brain just comes up with the words ‘fog machine’ and there's no looking back.

If we're being honest, if there's one team in Major League Baseball that would have a fog machine in their clubhouse it would, of course, be the Philadelphia Phillies. The image of guys scarfing down Dalessandro's in the middle of a dense fog is a highly stereotypical one to imagine, but an awesome one nonetheless.

While there doesn't appear to be any photo or video evidence of the new fog machine inside the Phil's clubhouse, it's a safe bet we're going to get some fog content sooner rather than later if Philadelphia keeps up with its winning ways.
