Patrick Mahomes Responds To Raiders Trolling Him With A Kermit The Frog Puppet
The Las Vegas Raiders fired the first shot in the Great Kermit The Frog Puppet War of ‘24 (although, saying "Kermit The Frog Puppet" is redundant; he is a puppet), and now it's time for the man with the froggiest voice in football — Patrick Mahomes — to issue his response.
If you missed it, early this week, it appeared that some Raiders were busy rounding up a Kermit puppet and a wig instead of studying their playbook, and it still gave us this instantly viral moment.
Hilarious and honestly a better version of Kermit's voice than the one the dude who actually does Kermit's voice pulls off — but, as RGIII correctly pointed out, that is a wild move to troll a dude who has owned your team 10-2 since he entered the league.
After hearing Mahomes' response to the good-natured Muppet-y ribbing, I would feel comfortable betting that the record will be 14-2 after this season.
"Yeah, I mean, it’s still early in the year. Stuff like that happens," Mahomes said on Friday. "It’ll get handled when it gets handled."
I'd be shaking in my cleats if I were the Raiders… but seeing as I'm sitting at my computer I'm cracking up about how a Kermit puppet just became bulletin board material for the best quarterback in football.
I'm not going to lie to you: I desperately want to see Mahomes trample the Raiders then rip his helmet and yell into a microphone during his post-game interview like Richard Sherman after they tried to match him up against Michael Crabtree.
"That's what they get for putting a wig that kind of looks like my hair on a Kermit puppet! I'm here!"
I'd probably pass out. I'd be laughing so hard.
Mahomes also said that he didn't have too many people send him the video.
"Not really, honestly. Everybody kind of just lets me play," Mahomes said. "They know how I am, so they don't need to send me anything to keep me motivated."
It's good to know that Mahomes is independently motivated and doesn't need other teams goofing on him with puppets to do that.
