Patrick Mahomes Has Very Relatable Reason For Bringing TV To Camp For The First Time Ever

We've reached the point on the calendar at which NFL training camps get underway, and the Kansas City Chiefs are one of those teams who are already putting in the work.

This includes the guy who spends the season under center, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but this season, Mahomes showed up to camp with something new for the first time ever: a TV.

KCTV's Jared Koller posted a clip in which Mahomes told the media that he had to bring a TV to training camp for the first time because College Football 25 is rolling out this week.

"This is my first year I'm bringing a TV. I haven't brought a TV ever before, but NCAA came out, and I'm going to have to turn it on," Mahomes said. "I brought a TV for NCAA and the Olympics, that's my first year ever doing that."

I hear ya, Pat. My girlfriend was nice enough to snag me a copy and I've been playing — usually as 2017 National Champion UCF Knights (the game developers even remembered to throw that on the virtual version of FBC Mortgage Stadium) — and it's great. I can't blame him for wanting to get some games in. And the Olympics? Count me in for that too.

But I got hung up on one detail about what Mahomes was saying: he has to bring his own TV?

Apparently, Mahomes has been "raw dogging" training camp for years, but why does he need to bring a TV? Where does he stay during camp that there's no TV on hand? Is he in a tent? I would assume he's in a hotel, and those usually come complete with TVs.

Or maybe there is a TV on hand, and it's just not up to snuff for Mahomes, a guy known to like playing some video games.

But I would've assumed that as the heart and soul of the team and after leading them to three Super Bowl titles, Mahomes could be like, "Hey, I'd like a TV for camp this year." and the Chiefs powers that be would snap their fingers and make it happen.

They shouldn't make Pat roll up to camp and have to lug a flatscreen out of the back of his car like he's moving into his dorm!

Whatever the case, I hope he enjoys himself playing the game, but for the sake of Chiefs fans, don't get too into it.
