PAC-2 Cooked For Tweeting National TV Times
The Pac-12 Conference is dead, long live the Pac-12 Conference.
The zombie remains of the Pac-12 continue to exist, which is funny enough as it is, but what might be even funnier is the Pac-12 Conference posting home game kickoffs and national television broadcasts. For two teams. Most of which will be on the CW.
Yes, the CW.
Oregon State will have games against Idaho State, Purdue, Colorado State, UNLV and San Jose State on the CW. The Civil War matchup against Oregon though, will at least be on Fox or FS1. Washington State also gets one whole game not on the CW, against Texas Tech. Portland State, San Jose State, Hawaii, Utah State and Wyoming will all be on the CW.
The one rivalry in the Pac-12, Oregon State-Washington State, will also be on the CW.
Pac-2 football, feel the excitement.
Unsurprisingly, fans approached the conference's post with kindness, understanding, and acceptance. Come on now, of course they didn't.
No One's That Interested In ‘Pac-12’ Football
Most of the replies to the conference's announcement were, of course, jokes or criticisms.
One fan wondered who would make the conference championship game, given there are two total teams in the conference.
Most asked why the conference is still calling itself the "Pac-12" when there are two teams left. And it's a legitimate question.
There may be contractural reasons, or maybe Oregon State and Washington State still intend to rebuild the conference somehow by inviting teams from other conferences to join. It's a disastrous situation, and honestly impressive that the two schools were able to finagle any level of national television exposure considering what's happened to their programs.
One thing's for certain about the Pac-2 games this year; they're going to get absolutely demolished in the comments if they don't change the name.
