Oklahoma Will Pull Very Classy Move To Honor Toby Keith
The Oklahoma Sooners will continue to honor Toby Keith into the weekend.
The country music icon passed away at the age of 62 after battling stomach cancer, and his death sent shockwaves through the music and entertainment world.
He was a larger than life figure who loved America, his family and the Sooners. They just don't make many guys like him these days, and he'll be greatly missed.
The Sooners honored Toby Keith Tuesday night prior to the Oklahoma/BYU basketball game, but it appears things are just getting started when it comes to the program remembering his legacy.
Oklahoma will use red solo cups to further honor Toby Keith.
The Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys will meet in Norman this Saturday for a massive rivalry game, and fans should expect to see plenty of red solo cups.
All drinks will be served in red solo cups for Sooners/Cowboys game.
The move is a tip of the cap to Toby Keith's legendary song about red solo cups. Only Toby Keith could make an absolute banger about a red plastic cup.
This is also a great example of just how serious, tragic and sad Keith's passing is for many people. For me, he was a country music star and patriot. For others, he was a country music star and Sooners fan. For some, he was a music icon and simply a great family man and friend.
His passing is one of the most unfortunate in recent memory, and it's resulted in an outpouring of tributes. The Sooners serving all drinks in red cups is touching and downright awesome.
RIP to a true American legend and props to everyone honoring him. It's a reminder that we can still come together in tough times.
