Alabama Paying Nick Saban Big Money In Retirement

Nick Saban might not be coaching football at Alabama anymore, but he's still getting paid big money.

The seven-time national champion coach rode off into the sunset after last season, and he's viewed by most fans as the greatest coach in the history of the sport.

However, the party has to eventually end for everyone, and Saban decided his time to step away had come. The good news is he isn't going to have to worry about money.

Nick Saban earns a big salary in new role at Alabama.

Saban earned right around $11 million for his final season coaching the Crimson Tide. While he's not being paid that kind of money in retirement, he's definitely not going to the broke house.

Alabama is paying the legendary coach $500,000.04 for a new role with the school that's described as "Professional," according to documents obtained by 247Sports.

Saban can't stop winning even in retirement!

The money he's earning from Alabama in retirement for a role that likely doesn't require much work in addition to whatever ESPN is paying him.

Saban joined the cast of College GameDay for the upcoming season, and it's a genius move from ESPN. Adding the former Alabama coach is one of the smartest moves the network has made in a very long time.

It's not known how much ESPN is paying him, but I can guarantee you it's probably a lot of cash. Now, the former Crimson Tide coach gets to tack on an additional half a million dollars. There's almost too much winning to handle.

Life is good when you win seven national titles - six in Tuscaloosa - and are a legend in the sport. Let me know what you think of Saban's setup at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
