Nick Castellanos' Foul Ball Destroys Reporter's Laptop

A soaring foul ball from Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Nick Castellanos made its way to the press box, landing and shattering a reporter's laptop.

Hopefully the writer opted for the warranty plan ….

Phillies Nation reporter Tim Kelly shared a photo from the press box on Saturday during the Phillies and Orioles matchup at Camden Yards.

During one of Castellanos' four at-bats (0-4) in Saturday's losing effort (6-2), a foul ball sailed backward, reminding the unfortunate reporter to take his eyes off his electronics and watch the game.

Thankfully, Kelly didn't suffer any injuries. However, Kelly did share a photo from his POV in the press box, showing a smashed laptop, though it was more of a cosmetic injury.

The next day, entering the third game of the series with both teams tied (1-1), Kelly relayed a notice posted by the folks at Camden Yards, advising reporters to be aware of foul balls.

Several questions remain …

Did the reporter keep the Castellanos foul ball?

Did he manage to still publish his piece?

MLB fans are often treated to some odd foul ball occurrences. Former Yankees announcer John Sterling was hit in the head when a foul ball during a game against the Red Sox found the broadcasters booth.

Last month, Cincinnati Reds outfielder Spencer Steer hit a foul ball that landed on his twin brother … what are the odds?

It's not the first time we've seen a foul ball end up in an odd place … and it won't be the last.
