NFL Reporter Shades Ian Rapoport For Lazy Reaction To John Ross Signing

Ask yourself in your best Joe Pesci voice: Interesting … interesting how?

That's how NFL fans felt after reading NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport's latest ‘ground-breaking’ reaction to a new signing. This prompted one veteran reporter to push back on Rap and encourage him to be more thorough the next time he posts.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport Half-A**es His Job, Which Doesn't Go Well…

On Thursday, Rapoport reacted to news that former Cincinnati Bengals wideout John Ross signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rap must've felt either cryptic or lazy, evidenced by a painfully glib reaction to the Ross signing that almost made it unworthy of posting.

"An intriguing signing…" Rapoport succinctly said.

Why, Ian?

Because Ross hasn't played a real snap since 2021?

Is there trouble in the Eagles' locker room?

Is Ross still flashing his record-breaking 4.22 ‘40’ time?

What exactly is so interesting, Ian?

"The 8th best WR on the team is an intriguing signing. Interesting," one X user reacted, pushing Rap to disclose more information or keep it canned.

Trey WinGOAT Goes After Rapoport

Well, longtime NFL reporter Trey Wingo stepped into the conversation and criticized Rap for disclosing zero information despite having one of the NFL's more elite Rolodexes. Wingz wasn't having the cutesy tweet from Rap, and NFL fans sided with Wingo's reaction.

"Why? Name one thing about it that’s intriguing," Wingo reacted, quote-tweeting Rapoport's post.

Reporter on reporter action … nice!

It's not the first time we've seen sports media vets go at it, especially involving Rapoport.

Frankly, there's nothing all that sexy about John Ross going to Philly. Ross has been quite the disappointment, mostly due to his injury history — not having played a full season (10 games at most) in his six years in the league.

Ross' last snap came in ‘21 with the New York Giants, the Eagles’ rival team.

As for Wingo and Rapoport, it was only proper for the former to demand more out of Rap, especially in these tough times in sports media.

Fans on X sided with Wingo in this fight.

"Own that nerd, Trey," one user said.

"Anything for some engagement," another person added.

One user set the situation out plainly and still more in-depth on the analysis front than Rapoport: "Yeah, Ian. While I’m happy to see John get another opportunity, how is a guy who hasn’t played in a NFL game in 3 years & whose best season saw him haul in 500 yards an intriguing signing?"

All good questions … intriguing even.
