NFL Insider Suggests Jets QB Aaron Rodgers Is On Ayahuasca Trip

Where in the world is Aaron Rodgers? 

One NFL insider offered his insights on the New York Jets QB's whereabouts, suggesting the 40-year-old NFLer is away on a (you guessed it) ayahuasca retreat.

For the uninitiated, ayahuasca is a wine-like liquid drug that lets you get real ‘spiritual’ after a sip.

The quarterback is doing this to clear his mind heading into his 20th season, and that's why he's missing Jets OTAs, which is costing him an estimated $100,000 in fines.

Appearing on the "Rich Eisen Show," longtime NFL insider Albert Breer suggested that Rodgers may be dipping into ol' psychedelics in his absence from Jets OTAs.

"The best I can answer this right now that I feel solid about is that he is somewhere that they could not excuse and maintain credibility with the rest of the locker room, but would be expected, would not be an out-of-left-field thing for him," Breer said.

"So you guys can open your mind, so to speak, as he’s been known to open his mind sometimes, into all the possibilities," Breer added. 

Jets camp has been buzzing concerning Rodgers' absence. Prominent sports media figures have dubbed Rodgers a selfish player for once again putting his personal interests in the way of fulfilling his duties as the Jets' starting quarterback.

The aging QB heads into his sophomore season with Super Bowl or bust expectations. 

The four-time MVP had his season cut short last year. A Week 1 Achilles rupture took Rodgers out of action for the year, which put the Jets' comeback campaign on hold.

Rodgers returns to the field one year closer to retirement and faces a tougher schedule to the postseason.

New York braces to take on the San Francisco 49ers for Week 1 of the 2023-24 season. On the Monday night stage.
