New York Sports Are So Back With Rangers And Knicks Fans Going Wild

Watch out everyone, New York City is back as a sports town.

Despite having legendary franchises like the Yankees and the New York football Giants, NYC has been in a championship drought in recent years, with their last trophy coming in 2012 when the G-Men defeated  Tom ‘Plugs’ Brady and the New England Patriots.

New York City has felt lame and almost as if there was something missing - because there had been something missing:  Madison Square Garden. But with the ongoing success from both the Knicks and Rangers this postseason, fans have been going absolutely crazy and it's bringing an energy that New York hasn't felt in years.

ABSOLUTE SCENES OVER THE NEW YORK RANGERS WIN LAST NIGHT

Last night was no different, as the Rangers came back from a 2-0 deficit to end up winning the game and advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals against the winner of the Panthers - Bruins series. (Panthers currently have a 3-2 games lead.)

Their fans made sure the rest of the sports world knew about the Rangers advancing.

As soon as the Rangers' Chris Kreider scored his hat-trick game-winning goal, thousands of Rangers fans descended upon the outside of Madison Square Garden to start going wild. There were even viewing parties of the game in different parts of the city, which has never happened in the past to as big a crowd as it is now.

But it's not just the Rangers - it's also the New York Knicks who can advance to the NBA Eastern Conference finals if they can finish the Indiana Pacers tonight, as they lead 3-2 games in the best-of-seven round.

NEW YORK HASN'T HAD THE RANGERS AND KNICKS GOOD SINCE 1994

If you thought the Rangers celebrations were wild, you haven't seen anything yet. Knicks fans have been going absolutely berserk. I mean hell, they've been so wild that they nearly outdrew 76ers fans last round in Philly's Wells Fargo Center, which prompted Sixers ownership to purchase 2,000 tickets to try and squeeze out Knicks fans from coming back.

The over-the-top sports celebrations at times can come across as cringe or even pathetic.

But the thing is? New York sports fans don't care.  And neither do the Rangers or Knicks - because clearly the energy is working.

And if either or both sports franchises continue to win, so too will their fans. So get ready to see plenty more videos like these.
