Netflix's New 'Receiver' Show Will Highlight Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, More...
Fans of the smash-hit Netflix show "Quarterback" are in for an even wilder ride.
"Receiver," a new Netflix show following five-star NFL pass catchers (with one twist) is set to debut on the streaming giant this summer.
The show will follow Las Vegas Raiders' Davante Adams, Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson, Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
George Kittle, Pro Bowl tight end for San Francisco, rounds out the fifth pass catcher on the show, so not all "Receivers."
The season will consist of eight episodes at 45 minutes each.
The first season of "Quarterback" followed Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, former Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins and ex-Atlanta Falcon, Marcus Mariota.
Chronicling their journey throughout the 2022-23 season, "Quarterback's" all-access look at these top-level players (sans Mariota, respectfully) drew in both Netflix audiences and NFL football fans.
Following NFL receivers, the intrigue should only heighten, knowing WR is the most emotionally volatile skill position next to cornerback.
Rarely do you see quarterbacks take their grievances to social media or make a fuss out of inane things …
You can only hope that Netflix doesn't sanitize the narratives to appeal to the players. Observing diva wide receivers is like watching a car wreck, and that's hopefully what we're receiving with this new show.
Davante Adams approaches a decisive year with the Raiders.
Justin Jefferson may be checked out in Minnesota with Kirk Cousins no longer there.
Deebo Samuel is a premier trash-talker in the league, as is Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Netflix, Omaha Productions — back in the saddle to produce — and Patrick Mahomes' 2PM Productions have another hit on their hands. It's on them if it's a drop or flop.
