NBA Drops $75K Hammer On PJ Tucker For Breaking Rules, Demanding Trade

In the latest ridiculous fine by the Association, the NBA disciplined Los Angeles Clippers vet P.J. Tucker for publicly requesting a trade. The discipline sounded fair at first, that is, until they dropped the figure … $75,000!

Turns out yapping off and asking for a trade in today's NBA will cost you almost six figures.

Last week, when speaking to the media, Tucker mentioned he was actively looking for a trade out of Los Angeles, landing in a stacked roster for the Western Conference juggernaut.

"No, not necessarily because I feel like I shouldn't have to go through this," Tucker shared ahead of the deadline. "I didn't ask to be here. I didn't ask for and I didn't demand a trade to be here."

He landed with the Clippers last year as part of the James Harden trade with the Philadelphia 76ers. Tucker has not appeared in much action for the Clippers this season, last seen on the court in November. In 15 games for the Clips this season, Tucker averaged 1.3 points and 2.9 rebounds.

Tucker is slated to make $11 million this season.

Tucker expressed his desire to jump ship ahead of the NBA's Feb. 9 trade deadline. L.A. held onto Tucker past the deadline.

With ball-dominant guards swallowing up the Clippers' backcourt and a towering front court, Tucker — viewed as a ‘small’ defensively capable center at 6-foot-5 — finds himself without a role and still wanting to keep his NBA career alive at the age of 38.

With more than $80 million in career earnings, the $75K probably won't hit as hard for the 11-year vet. But still … that's a lot of dough.

Keep in mind, Draymond Green was fined a third of that total ($25,000) for continually slapping NBA players … so make it make sense, NBA.
