NASCAR Champ Kyle Busch Goes On ESPN And Bashes 'Dainty' F1, Which ESPN Airs

NASCAR champ Kyle Busch joined Pat McAfee on his ESPN show yesterday, and promptly bashed Formula 1 – and the younger generation in his own series – in one glorious interview.

Bonus: ESPN airs F1 races every week. Sure they loved what Rowdy had to say! I did, at least.

"Let me give you an example. NASCAR racing, to me, is like two bros or four bros or whatever, beer cans in their hands smashing them up going, ‘WOO!’ Partying, having a good time. We’re gonna rub some fenders," Busch told McAfee when asked about comparing F1 to NASCAR.

"When you go and do an F1 race, little dainty, tiny champagne glasses doing ‘dink,’ and making sure you keep your pinky up when you take a sip, you know? And we’re all about getting sloshed."

Kyle Busch says the quiet part out loud about NASCAR and Formula 1

YESSSSSSS. Say it louder for the Euros in the back who didn't hear! We're in America, we love NASCAR. I know F1 is all the rage right now, but it's all faux rage.

NASCAR ratings ain't great. They certainly ain't what they used to be. But they crush F1 each and every week, and it's never close.

I'm obviously a NASCAR guy – it's why I have an award-winning column every Monday. So, yeah, I'm biased.

That being said, I've tried to get into F1. Seriously, I have. It's so boring. Kyle Busch is 100% right. All they do is follow the leader every week – it's the same leader every week – and that leader wins by literally 30 seconds.

NASCAR, meanwhile, puts on finishes like this:

Not even kind of close.

Now, Rowdy wasn't done stuffing people in a locker, either. The former champ also called out all the sissies in his own garage, noting that he's the last guy who threw a punch.

Dale Sr. would never let that stand, for what it's worth.

"The younger generation is all about crashing before winning," he said. "I think the last guy to throw a punch was me, so no (fights) have really happened lately."

Well, to be fair, that's actually not true. It was just last season that Ross Chastain punched Noah Gragson in his face after a race, so I think Rowdy is a little off on this one.

The younger generation of NASCAR driver is certainly different than Busch or Joey Logano or Denny Hamlin, or any of the other elder statesmen in the garage … but I'm not sure their unwillingness to fight is a fair point.

I've seen plenty over the past few years, including bloody brawls in the Xfinity Series, the Chastain punch last season, and Bubba Wallace literally getting out of his car on the infield and running after Kyle Larson like a psychopath.

All in all, though, I can't think of a better NASCAR representative on the Pat McAfee Show than Kyle Busch. 10/10 interview.

Good stuff. Kick rocks, F1!

Zach grew up in Florida, lives in Florida, and will never leave Florida ... for obvious reasons. He's a reigning fantasy football league champion, knows everything there is to know about NASCAR, and once passed out (briefly!) during a lap around Daytona. He swears they were going 200 mph even though they clearly were not.
