MLB All-Star Game's National Anthem Crushes Ingrid Andress' HR Derby Trainwreck

The 94th Midsummer classic started on a good note.

Country singer Cody Johnson redeemed MLB's All-Star festivities with a standout national anthem performance before Tuesday's All-Star Game.

Baseball fans were left with a bad taste from Monday's Home Run Derby after Ingrid Andress, a four-time Grammy-nominated singer, delivered a national anthem performance so bad that it drew comparisons to Fergie and Carl Lewis.

Andress shared a statement on Tuesday, claiming she was "drunk" during her performance, which drew little sympathy from baseball fans. Remember when David Wells pitched a perfect game while hungover for the Yankees? …

Still, the unexpected performance surprised audiences and attracted more attention to MLB's All-Star celebrations.
