Vikings Unveil 'Winter Warrior' Unis For Monday Night Football Against Bears

I have a level of empathy for the people designing new uniforms for professional sports teams these days. It's tough to come up with new designs, and you already know people are geared up to complain.

That being said, I honestly think the Minnesota Vikings NAILED their new uniforms, dubbed "Winter Warrior," that the team plans to wear for their Monday Night Football matchup against NFC North rival Chicago Bears on December 16.

The entire uniform – helmet, jersey and pants – uses white as the main color. They ditched gold to feature their signature deep purple as the accent color. The result is perfect, especially for a game in the middle of winter in Minnesota.

I really don't have anything to criticize here, and for me, that's rare. I live to find things wrong; granted, I view it as me trying to help people get better, though not everyone agrees with that.

These jerseys are legitimately awesome. I'm not a Vikings fan, but I could definitely see rocking one of these jerseys to a sports bar to watch some Thursday Night Football or something.

I have a soft spot for taking one color and making it the dominant color throughout the entire uniform. Plus, this makes sense with the winter theme.

I love that the Cincinnati Bengals did something similar because the white bengal tiger is one of the most majestic creatures found in nature.

See, a team can't just take a color that doesn't make sense and roll with it. All black uniforms could look awesome, too, especially depending on the accents.

The Baltimore Ravens all-black uni with the purple accent is a great example, especially given their connection to Edgar Allan Poe.

"Simplicity is the essence of design" is a phrase that my uncle, an artist, used to say to me all the time when I was growing up.

I can't help but agree with that.
