Min Woo Lee Details Real-Life Nightmare Of Breaking His Finger Just Days Ahead Of The Masters

Picking up an injury at anytime is no fun, but suffering a significant one as a professional golfer just days ahead of playing in the Masters is on an entirely different level of unfortunate. That's the reality Min Woo Lee is living at the moment after facing some brutally bad luck in the gym.

Lee, who is set to make his third Masters appearance this week, was spotted with a bandage on his right ring finger when he arrived at Augusta National. The Aussie went on to explain that he broke the finger after his very last rep during an exercise on March 30, just 12 days before Thursday's opening round of the Masters.

"I was in the gym on I think Saturday. Yeah, Saturday last week. I was just doing like a side bridge glute thing and it was literally my last rep, last set thing, and I like threw the dumb bell down and somehow clipped my right ring finger so it --Yeah, so I went to the doctor and I thought it was okay because I could move it. It was just red. I thought it would be fine. Then they came in and said, you've broken it," Lee explained.

He revealed he had to take a handful of days off and didn't actually hit a full shot until this past Friday. Not touching a club for a few days in the lead up to the first major championship of the year is less than ideal, but something Lee has had to deal with.

To add insult to injury, Lee revealed that he came down with the flu over the weekend, but did share one nugget of positivity, explaining that the recovery in his finger is going very well.

He made it clear that he hasn't lost his laid back demeanor despite the unfortunate adversity.

"I still went to the gym last week as much as I could. Obviously didn't do that exercise," Lee told the media in Augusta. "Every time I looked at that 20 pound dumb bell, yeah, gave it a death stare."
