College Football Fans Rally To Get Mike Leach Into Hall Of Fame

Fans want to see Mike Leach in the College Football Hall of Fame.

The ballot for the HoF was announced last week, and Leach wasn't included because he doesn't meet the minimum winning percentage threshold of .600.

The former Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State coach had a .596 (158-107) winning percentage at the time of his death.

The legendary coach died at the age of 61 after suffering a heart attack and health complications. Now, fans want to see the man responsible for lethal air raid offenses take his place among the all-time greats.

College football fans push for Mike Leach to be inducted into Hall of Fame.

Despite lacking a .600 winning percentage, fans aren't deterred from making it clear they want him in the HoF. Many have taken to social media to make a push to get him past the finish line. After all, we're talking about the man who ran the most electrifying offenses to hit a football field.

There's simply no excuse for some kind of rule adjustment to not be made to get Leach in. Leach revolutionized the sport of college football with a heavy air attack offense. He looked at a sport known for having ground and pound offenses, decided he didn't want anything to do with that and let his QB air it out.

The Pirate was truly one of a kind, and the modern offenses you see all over the country have his fingerprints prominently on them.

Yet, he's not eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame because of an arbitrary threshold that could be changed. Keeping Leach out is simply insane given the impact he had on college football and how he managed to win with historically weak programs. Plus, the man was a content machine. He should get into the hall of fame based on soundbites alone.

Let's hope common sense prevails, and something is done to get him in the hall of fame where he belongs. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
