Marshawn Lynch Launching Podcast With — Of All People — Gavin Newsom

It seems as though everyone and their mother have a podcast these days, but that's just never really been true.

However, it might be now, because a new podcast hosted by NFL great Marshawn Lynch and not-so-great Governor of California Gavin Newsom is set to launch later this month.

…What?

According to Politico, the new series is called Politickin' and episodes will drop every week beginning on July 15. Newsom and Lynch will also be joined by the latter's agent Doug Hendrickson. Both Lynch and Hendrickson are reportedly friends with Newsom (although it seems hard to believe he could have legitimate friends).

While this was reportedly in the works for more than a year — by the way, that's what you want in a president; someone who takes more than a year to throw together a podcast — the new show debuts at an interesting time with news of it coming out just over a week after President Joe Biden laid an absolute egg during his televised debate with former President Donald Trump.

The podcast will let listeners hear Newsom "like you’ve never heard him," which could be a nice change of pace from the way everyone is used to hearing him.

Maybe he was saving all the good material for his podcast.

What a roller coaster of emotions this announcement was. At first, I saw that Marshawn Lynch had a podcast and I was like, ‘Cool; I'd kick the tires on that. I bet he has some great stories from his playing days"

Then I looked closer and realized that Newsom was his co-host and now I don't really think there's any chance I could get through an episode without flinging my phone out the window at some point.

I don't want to tempt fate like that, because the only thing worse than listening to an hour of Gavin Newsom yammering is having to go get a new phone at the T-Mobile store.
